Light
Phalaenopsis likes a well it spot but cannot tolerate direct sunlight in the period from March to September. The plant will thrive best at a room temperature of 18 - 22° C.
Water and plant food
Water Phalaenopsis once a week. If possible immerse the rootball in luke warm water for a few minutes. Drain well before returning the plant to the pot. Phalaenopsis should be fed once a month. Special orchid plant food is available from most garden centres, but normal plant food will suffice in its absence.
Flowering
When flowering is over cut off the stem above the second eye (= thickened part of the stem). This will encourage a new spray to start to develop after a few weeks.
